Notre Dame @ Georgia

Prior to Georgia's trip to South Bend, Ind., to play Notre Dame in 2017, the schools had met on the field just once. That came in the 1981 Sugar Bowl, when the Bulldogs won the second of their two national titles in program history. Georgia took down the Fighting Irish in 2017 by a score of 20-19. It was a pivotal win for a Georgia team that went on to play in the national title game, and the Notre Dame matchup was also the first career start for Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm. Fromm, now a junior, will be under center when the Fighting Irish make their first ever visit to Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. Notre Dame is fresh off a playoff appearance last season, and it is attempting to get back there behind second-year starting quarterback Ian Book. Georgia fell just short of a second consecutive playoff appearance after a loss to Alabama in last season's SEC title game. Needless to say, the stakes should be high for both teams on Sept. 21. Plus, it could be a very long time until Notre Dame comes back to Athens.
