Georgia vs Florida (Jacksonville)

The rivalry between the Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators is always heated. But this year, it is already firing up with head coaches Dan Mullen and Kirby Smart making comments to the media. So when these teams finally have the chance to play each other later in the season with a possible SEC East title and trip to Atlanta on the line, expect for all hell to break loose. Two talented teams, who will a bye week ahead of this game, will have two weeks to plan for each other and two weeks to talk smack. Last year, the Bulldogs dominated with a 36-17 win, the second-straight in the series after the Gators had taken three in a row. But with Mullen entering his second season with the team, don’t be surprised if the Florida offense takes a step forward and this game is much closer.

Alabama at Auburn

There are a lot of great rivalries in college football, and many of those are on this list. But if you’re listing games that consistently play a role in the national title picture, the Iron Bowl is absolutely going to be towards the top, if not THE top. Really, any game the Alabama Crimson Tide plays is going to play a role in the College Football Playoff since they are almost always going to be in the top four, but with their matchup against the Auburn Tigers ending their regular season, it is the most important because it comes last. One of the most insane plays in college football history took place in this series: the Kick-Six in 2013. They have split the last two games, with Bama winning easily, 52-21 last season. They have also won four of the last five, but never count out a team in a rivalry game.

Acadia Night Sky Festival

Join us for one of the premier night sky events on the eastern seaboard. The 11th Annual Acadia Night Sky Festival is set for September 25-29, 2019, and will once again be packed with a full schedule of events. With workshops, internationally recognized speakers and hands-on experiences, there truly is something for everyone from families to the serious amateur astronomer.

Help us celebrate the starlit skies of Downeast Maine through education, science and the arts.

Maine’s spectacular rocky coast is home to Acadia National Park, and some of the last pristine, star-filled night skies in the eastern United States. Here, the Milky Way shines bright in the largest expanse of naturally dark sky east of the Mississippi River.

With the rapid loss of dark skies to light pollution receiving national attention, Maine is increasingly being referred to as one place “that still has stars.” We invite you to discover Downeast Maine’s unique commitment to protecting the quality of its starlit nights at this annual celebration.

Notre Dame @ Georgia

Prior to Georgia's trip to South Bend, Ind., to play Notre Dame in 2017, the schools had met on the field just once. That came in the 1981 Sugar Bowl, when the Bulldogs won the second of their two national titles in program history. Georgia took down the Fighting Irish in 2017 by a score of 20-19. It was a pivotal win for a Georgia team that went on to play in the national title game, and the Notre Dame matchup was also the first career start for Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm. Fromm, now a junior, will be under center when the Fighting Irish make their first ever visit to Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. Notre Dame is fresh off a playoff appearance last season, and it is attempting to get back there behind second-year starting quarterback Ian Book. Georgia fell just short of a second consecutive playoff appearance after a loss to Alabama in last season's SEC title game. Needless to say, the stakes should be high for both teams on Sept. 21. Plus, it could be a very long time until Notre Dame comes back to Athens.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban returns to the site of his last loss to a team from the SEC East in early September as the 'SEC on CBS' season kicks off this season with Alabama-South Carolina from Williams-Brice Stadium. Will the Crimson Tide pass the eye test in their first road test of fall? For Will Muschamp, whose team at South Carolina has beaten just one Top 25 opponent in 15 tries over the past three seasons, here's a moment in the spotlight that could be a shot in the arm for the program. The Gamecocks also battle Georgia and Clemson this season, defining contests on the nation's toughest schedule.

Texas A&M @ Clemson

Texas A&M @ Clemson

Ready for round two? Texas A&M and Clemson played one of the most competitive nonconference games we saw last season, as the Tigers escaped with a 28-26 victory at Kyle Field. Clemson will host the Aggies in Death Valley this time around, and it will do so as the defending national champion. Tigers rising sophomore quarterback Trevor Lawrence was still splitting reps with former Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant when they faced Texas A&M last season. Now, with Bryant now the likely starter at Missouri after a midseason transfer, Lawrence is the undisputed starter. Texas A&M and head coach Jimbo Fisher have an experienced quarterback returning as well, though. Aggies signal caller Kellen Mond played one of his best games of the season in last year's defeat, and that was against a Clemson defense that loses a lot of talent to the NFL. We could be in for another thrilling matchup between the schools.

LSU @ Texas

We will see LSU and Texas play in each of the next two seasons, with the first coming on Sept. 7 in Austin. The Tigers will travel to face the Longhorns in the first matchup between the schools since the 2003 Cotton Bowl. Prior to that 2003 Cotton Bowl, Texas and LSU had not played since 1963. The rare meeting will give fans an opportunity to see two opponents that enter the year with College Football Playoff aspirations. Both have veteran quarterbacks — Sam Ehlinger for Texas and Joe Burrow for LSU — and are coming off 10-win seasons. Regardless of the result, each team will still have something to say about their respective conference title races. However, if a national title is in the cards then both could need this win to bolster a potential playoff resume.

Auburn vs Oregon @ AT&T Stadium

These programs have only met once before, and the stage could not have been bigger in college football. Auburn and Oregon faced off in the 2011 BCS National Championship game, with the Tigers winning 22-19. Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn was the team's offensive coordinator back then, but he will now see the Ducks as the leader of the program. Oregon head coach Maro Cristobal and the Ducks enter the season with high expectations. Much of the optimism stems from the return of Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert, who could have been one of the top quarterbacks taken in this year's NFL draft. If either team contends for the College Football Playoff, a win in this season opener would be an impressive victory on its resume. The neutral-site matchup will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
