LSU @ Texas

We will see LSU and Texas play in each of the next two seasons, with the first coming on Sept. 7 in Austin. The Tigers will travel to face the Longhorns in the first matchup between the schools since the 2003 Cotton Bowl. Prior to that 2003 Cotton Bowl, Texas and LSU had not played since 1963. The rare meeting will give fans an opportunity to see two opponents that enter the year with College Football Playoff aspirations. Both have veteran quarterbacks — Sam Ehlinger for Texas and Joe Burrow for LSU — and are coming off 10-win seasons. Regardless of the result, each team will still have something to say about their respective conference title races. However, if a national title is in the cards then both could need this win to bolster a potential playoff resume.
