Why Travel is Important More Than Ever
After two long months in quarantine I realized that travel - for me - is a basic need.
Given a global pandemic and everything rocking our world it can’t stop a travelers desire to explore. Travel is built on inclusivity and diversity. Meeting and befriending people from different races, cultures, countries—or even as simple as a different state - is a simple yet powerful lesson in life. It’s simply the awareness that how you live is not the only way. There is a big world out there.
Travel is the most intense mode of learning. Each time you experience something new you will grow. Little by little, fear of the unknown is removed and replaced with empowerment. It doesn’t matter if you are traveling for work or for pleasure, travel changes you. From Atlanta to Zambia, you must learn to find a common ground with people that are not like you and bring those different perspectives back to your communities. This is how we collectively grow.
Sometimes these perspectives can even help solve an issue here at home. Unexplored paths lead to undiscovered treasures. I know that I’m equipped to help move forward thanks to research, the values I have learned from my family and my travels.
